Wonderful Dogs Looking For a Home

Einstein is a handsome, playful, loyal and doting, ten-year-old, 67-pound, male Rottweiler/Shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Einstein is currently living in a foster home with three other dogs and two cats. He gets along with everyone perfectly. He also gets regular visits from grandchildren aged 13 and up … and he loves them too!

His foster mom says “Einie” is so faithful that he even stands sentry outside the bathroom door to make sure she is always safe. And, he certainly lets her know when someone comes to the door!

Poor Einstein landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control in September. He was just a sick bag of bones at only 48 pounds (20 pounds underweight!). He could barely walk. He was taken home by a foster for Friend of Chicago Animal Care and Control. At the time, they thought it would just be a few days, weeks or possibly months of loving hospice care, so he wouldn’t have to finish his days in a shelter cage.

But, Einstein has absolutely thrived in the last seven months. Now he is ready to live out his golden years in a permanent home. He loves to play with just about every toy and ball … He knows all sorts of commands: sit, come, shake and wait. He takes treats incredibly gently from your hands. He is housebroken and crate-trained, and he sleeps on a dog bed at the foot of his foster’s bed.

He has some hip dysplasia, so he doesn’t really do a lot of stairs, but he hops right into the car to go for a ride. He loves his walks and car rides. He’s phenomenal on leash … steady, easy and slow. He also loves hanging out in the yard, but he does enjoy digging huge craters so he’s probably not the best pet for an avid gardener.

Einstein takes a little time to warm up to new people … but after he knows you, you can do just about anything to him; he adores and tolerates.

Einstein is a healthy senior, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped and treated for heartworm. If you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting Einstein please contact Kat at kbudrean@hotmail.com or 312-823-9930. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control.

Wally is a 7 year old, exuberant, happy-go-lucky beagle.

He loves everyone he meets; humans, dogs and cats. Wally's favorite things to do are go for walks, hang out with his canine friends and true to his beagle nature, EAT! Wally knows "sit" and is working on other commands. He has made huge progress in house-training and doesn't have accidents if kept on a regular schedule.

Wally most likely spent his whole life living outdoors prior to being rescued. He treasures love and attention from his foster family. Wally walks with a limp due to a deformed elbow possibly from an old injury. He does not let that slow him down one bit. Wally takes an anti-inflammatory daily and gets around great!

If you are interested in being a FOSTER HOME or would like to ADOPT Wally, contact info@AARSociety.org.

Wilbur is a 7-9 year old, sweet, mellow 25 lb. beagle.

He loves lounging around & napping on the couch. Also enjoys long walks & taking the time to enjoy all the great outdoor smells. He follows his foster family around the house like a little shadow & gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats and loves every human he meets.

Wilbur doesn't know any formal commands yet, but is great on leash and is house-broken if kept on a regular schedule. He most likely spent his entire life outdoors prior to being rescued but now thoroughly enjoys being an indoor part of his foster family.

If you are interested in ADOPTING Wilbur, contact info@AARSociety.org.
